• Serco is seeking a Software Engineer to join our dedicated team in Orlando, FL. This role supports the Ground Satellite Communications division in designing and supporting military satellite communication operations. You will engage in designing, implementing, testing, and delivering high-performance software components in a mission-critical environment.
• In this role, you will:
• + Contribute to the design, development, and maintenance of legacy software solutions and frameworks.

+ Modernize existing software architectures to improve scalability, performance, and maintainability. + Implement robust, scalable microservices to manage complex data processing and distribution. + Develop and maintain secure APIs to support system interoperability. + Collaborate with system architects and engineers to gather requirements and guide system design decisions.

• To be successful in this role, you will have:
• + Ability to obtain an interim DoD Secret security clearance.

+ US citizenship is required. + Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related engineering discipline. + 5+ years of relavent experience. + Working knowledge of software architecture and microservices. + Proficiency in Java, C# or an OO based languages. + Ability to work collaboratively in an Agile team environment. + Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. + Ability to travel up to 10%.

• Additional desired experience and skills:
• + HTTP Client / Server relationships with RESTful APIs. + Familiarity with Go Programming language. + Proficiency using version control tools such as Git or Bitbucket. + Exposure to Agile methodologies and the software development lifecycle.

Salary range:
