What you'll do PHY Management team is responsible for the automated updating, configuration, and monitoring of FPGAs used in the field as well designing embedded management software for a global NTN RAN. Team member responsibilities are to designing and implementing new features as needed, regularly main and update the code base, maintaining PHY applications in Viasat's production networks in devops model. Team members regularly interact with embedded systems and will need to work closely with the Programmable Logic team in order to support features and required configurations for new devices that are in use. This is a sitebased role, employees work 3+ days (60%+) per week from a Viasat office or work location within a standard fiveday workweek. The day-to-day What's the day-to-day like for this candidate? Design and Implement management applications for Configuring/Updating/Monitoring HW systems
Use your experience in O-RAN based RU M-plane development
Maintain and automate CI/CD pipelines for build/testing/deployments
Weekly On Call shift (12 hours, concurrent with in-office work) to support production & lab environments
Update and maintain existing production applications and networks What you'll need BS in Computer Science or equivalent
3- 5 years of experience working with 3GPP and NTN technology
Experience in Network programming and embedded environments
Experience with O-RAN based RU integration (C/U/S/M-planes)
Proficiency with NetConf, YANG
Experience integrating multi-vendor SW (including Open source)
Used technology/languages include Docker, Kubernetes, Golang, Python, Github Actions, Jenkins
US Citizenship or Permanent Resident required What will help you on the job C++ and Perforce experience
Experience with 3GPP, O-RAN M-plane and eCPRI technologies
Network programming and Embedded Systems experience
Good understanding of multithreading and OS concepts #LI-GS1 Salary range $140,500.00 - $221,500.00 / annually.
For specific work locations within San Jose, the San Francisco Bay area and York City metropolitan area, the base pay range for this role is $174,000.00- $261,000.00/ annually At Viasat, we consider many factors when it comes to compensation, including the scope of the position as well as your background and experience. Base pay may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Additional cash or stock incentives may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered.
