What We Need:
We are looking for a Developer Intern to join our HNI team in Muscatine, Iowa during Summer 2027!
What You Will Do:
HNI's summer internship program is a great opportunity for first-hand experience in your field of interest. You'll work on projects that support the technology platforms, systems, and tools that power collaboration, productivity, and business operations across HNI. HNI's large, paid internship program includes exposure to leadership, professional development opportunities (Lunch and Learns, training, skill-building workshops), support through a mentor relationship, volunteering, and social events. Company-paid apartment-style housing may also be available, based on a student's geographic need and current housing capacity. Responsibilities may include: Developing and maintaining solutions that automate business processes and improve operational efficiency Enhancing and modifying existing applications, workflows, integrations, and business systems Supporting low-code and custom development initiatives across a variety of business functions Partnering with business stakeholders to understand requirements and identify technology solutions Assisting with testing, troubleshooting, debugging, and implementation of system enhancements Creating technical documentation and supporting end-user adoption of new functionality Participating in projects that leverage automation, data, AI, and emerging technologies to solve business challenges
What You Have:
Candidates should be working towards a BA or MBA with a major in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent field. Junior-level coursework is preferred. Minimum 2.8 GPA Preference will be given to applicants with relevant technical coursework, certifications, internships, campus technology involvement, or experience developing technology solutions

Interest in software development, automation, systems integration, and business technology solutions Experience with programming, scripting, or automation tools through coursework, projects, or internships Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Strong communication and relationship-building skills Ability to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions Self-starter with high personal motivation and desire to take initiative and ownership We are not accepting any candidates that require company sponsorship to legally work in the United States.
