Hengli America Corporation (www.henglihydraulics.com) is a subsidiary of Jiangsu Hengli Hydraulic Co. Ltd., a world class manufacturer of hydraulic components and hydraulic system integrator located in Changzhou China approximately 3 hours from Shanghai. Hengli's brand is recognized globally as a superior supplier in earthmoving and construction, mining, lift, aerial work platform, marine and offshore, and the oil and gas markets. We produce customized hydraulic cylinders, industrial hydraulic valves, mobile valves, piston pumps and motors, and various pneumatic products. Hengli America is in the greater Chicago area and is rapidly growing in the areas of product research and development, application development, manufacturing, and customer service.SUMMARY OF POSITION
The Application Engineer I is an engineering role in the Sales department of Hengli America. The Application Engineering team bridges technical products and sales by understanding customer needs, translating them into tailored solutions, and providing pre- and post-sales technical support, often involving presentations, demos, documentation, and collaborating with engineering teams to ensure products meet market demands and client specifications.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Technical Consultation:
Advise clients and sales teams on product features, applications, and suitability for specific needs.Presentations & Demos:
Deliver compelling technical presentations and product demonstrations to prospective customers.Solution Development:
Work with engineering to design and customize products or services to meet customer requirements.Sales Support:
Assist sales teams in preparing technical proposals, documentation, and securing orders.Customer Support:
Provide post-sales technical assistance, troubleshooting, and installation support.Liaison:
Function as a bridge between sales, engineering, and customers to ensure alignment.Market Insight:
Monitor industry trends, competitive analysis, and gather customer feedback to inform product development.Travel:
Travels to customers as needed, attends trade showsPOSITION REQUIREMENTS / QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, or another related field 2+ years of professional experience required in similar role Willing to travel 10% Experience with hydraulic components, especially in construction, mining, lift, aerial work platform, marine and offshore, and the oil and gas industries required Strong written and verbal communication skills Strong problem-solving skills Ability to speak Chinese (Mandarin) preferred Local to Bolingbrook, IL or willing to relocateBENEFITS
