Neptune North, a newly created joint venture between Oliver Wyman and Rokos Capital Management, is hiring a Java Developer for a full-time role based in Champaign, Illinois. Responsibilities Deliver industry-leading solutions to the highest design, testing, and operational standards, meeting challenging SLAs Work directly with business users to identify enhancements and improvements to systems Challenge the status quo in design, process, and delivery approach through active discussions and brainstorming sessions Work closely with other technology teams across the business Split time between development (80%) and support (20%), including contact with end users Own all aspects of development projects from establishing business requirements through development, testing, and release management Qualifications Required In-depth understanding of and recent experience with Java 8 or above Excellent programming and technology skills Ability to own all aspects of development projects from start to finish Strong attention to detail and communication skills Ability to work well both in a team and independently Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field from a top university with a minimum 3.3/4.0 GPA or international equivalent Excellent pre-university academics Appetite to work in a dynamic, integrated team in a fast-paced environment Desire to understand Calypso functionality and interest in financial instrument processing from a user perspective Preferred Experience with Java 17 or above Experience with a portfolio management system such as Calypso, Murez, Orchestrade, or Front Arena Front and middle-office experience at a bank, asset management firm, or hedge fund Understanding of relevant financial products (rates, FX, equities, commodities, credit) from a Middle Office perspective Experience working directly with business users
