Job Description Insight Global's client needs a strong Java Developer who has AJO (Adobe Journey Optimizer) experience. This client is currently implemented AJO and although there is a whole implementation team for that, this team within the digital organization is responsible for building the migration to SMS and help with the implementation of SMS to the website. On a day to day basis, this person will be coding in Java, and working within AJO to make sure this migration and implementation goes well. There may be some backend Java Development work on other areas of the website as well. We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to build and support digital experiences across our Web and App platforms. This role is primarily focused on backend development using Java and Spring Boot, with opportunities to work on React applications as well. You will work first on delivering sms capabilities migration to Adobe AJO and then expand later to customer facing capabilities such as account, catalog, product, pricing, shopping, and checkout in retail domain. The role requires someone who can take ownership of their work, solve problems, work well with others, and see projects through from design to production.

Key Responsibilities Software Development:

Design, develop, test, and maintain applications using Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, and microservices. Take ownership of features from design and development through deployment and production support.

Digital Retail:

Build and improve customer facing capabilities across platform, account, catalog, product, pricing, shopping, checkout, and other digital experiences.

Technical Design:

Help design applications and services that are scalable, reliable, secure, and easy to maintain. Look for opportunities to simplify systems, improve existing solutions, and reduce technical debt.

Cloud and DevOps:

Build and deploy applications using Azure, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and modern development practices. Help improve how we build, test, and release software.

Monitoring and Production Support:

Use Dynatrace or similar tools to monitor applications and identify performance and availability issues. Troubleshoot production problems, identify root causes, and work with the team to resolve them.

Engineering Practices:

Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, testing, and documentation. Work closely with product, architecture, QA, UX, DevOps, and other engineering teams to deliver quality software. Skills and Requirements

• 7+ years of professional software engineering experience building and supporting production applications.
• Strong hands on experience with Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, backend services, microservices and software design principles.
• AJO knowledge and experience
• Strong experience working with relational or NoSQL databases such as MariaDB, MySQL, MongoDB, or similar technologies.
• Experience building and supporting customer facing web or digital applications.
• Experience with application monitoring and observability, including Dynatrace or a similar tool.
• Experience with Azure, Kubernetes, CI/CD, automated testing, Git, and DevOps practices.
• Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to investigate and resolve application and production issues.
• Local to Deerfield, onsite 4x per week
• Experience implementing/migrating SMS while part of the AJO implementation
• Experience with React, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.
• Knowledge of Adobe AJO or similar technologies supporting SMS capabilities.
• Experience with Redis, Azure Functions or Function Apps, and event driven applications.
• Experience with Kafka or other messaging and event streaming technologies.
• Experience working on high volume digital retail or e commerce applications, particularly catalog,
• pricing, shopping, or checkout.
• Experience with performance tuning, distributed tracing, resiliency, and production optimization.
• Understanding of secure software development and production readiness practices.
