Downers Grove, IL Duties:

• Provide consultation, advisory to other technical principals, executive leaders within the entire mainframe disciplines including compute, storage, and backup.
• Actively engage in authoring white papers, participating as a lead speaker in industry wide conferences, engaging and driving latest technology and industry trends, performing extensive research and detail analytics (like identifying root causes) relating to mainframe capacity and performance.
• Develop algorithms, forecasting and modeling, hands on configuration, providing technological and business recommendations to maintain peak mainframe performance while maximizing return of investments are some of the key attributes of the Principal Capacity planner.
• Mentor junior planners and directly handle and support large and complex mainframe client environment.
• Advise, Consult and Support multiple client environments each having unique requirements and requests.
• Support team on-call rotation.
• Develop accurate forecasting and modeling methodology.
• Identify system performance issues
• Provide mentoring, technical consultation, training, and knowledge sharing to other associates and organizations.
• Develop technical strategies for the organization. Requires a Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related field, plus 12 years of related experience. Additionally, position requires 12 years of experience with all of the following:
• advanced mainframe technical expertise including system architecture, configuration and interoperability of the mainframe and other platforms.
• Mainframe scripting and programming.
• MF JCL, other programs and applications including SAS and MXG.
• capacity and performance planning at the system and workload level, predictability, forecasting, and modeling.
• data analytical, correlation and performance diagnostics experience.
• technical leadership and mentoring experience, providing technical and industry white papers on Mainframe technology, capacity and performance.
• hosting technical discussions with industry experts and providing insight and roadmaps to Mainframe capacity and performance. \$167,898
• \$264,867 per year.
