Role Overview The Robot Programming Specialist is responsible for the implementation, development, and optimization of programming for collaborative and industrial robotic cells across our manufacturing plants. This position centers on cell implementation, offline programming, process refinement, and fixture collaboration to boost productivity, meet standard run rates, and minimize robotic cycle times. Core Responsibilities Deploy and initiate offline programming software for cobot and robot cells throughout our facilities. Draft comprehensive work instructions, programming procedures, and cell-build workflows. Configure robotic and cobot cells within the offline programming environment. Execute onsite program adjustments to ensure offline logic aligns with physical fixtures, parts, and cell conditions. Develop robotic and cobot programs tailored to new fixtures and product lines. Verify that all necessary fixture and part models are prepared before programming commences. Manage a programming schedule that addresses current project needs and upcoming production demand. Partner with fixture-design teams to enhance cycle times, programming efficiency, and overall accessibility. Analyze current and new robotic processes to uncover opportunities for performance gains. Detect specific programs or parts that are failing to reach anticipated production output. Implement corrective action plans to bolster robot performance and reduce cycle times for the entire production line. Assist in the validation, testing, and launch of new robotic cell installations. Maintain precise documentation regarding production, processes, and programming. Engage in cross-functional collaboration with tooling, maintenance, production, and engineering teams. Perform additional automation-related tasks as the needs of the business evolve. Required Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent certification. Three to five years of experience in robotic welding, robot programming, or related automation fields. Practical, hands-on experience in programming collaborative or industrial robots. Proficiency in executing both onsite program touch-ups and offline programming. Solid understanding of production processes, tooling, fixtures, and robotic cell layouts. Capacity to optimize robotic cycle times and diagnose performance-related issues to help the team meet production goals. Strong problem-solving, organizational, and planning capabilities. Ability to collaborate effectively across various facilities and departments to drive project success. Flexibility to travel occasionally between our company locations. Preferred Skills Background in programming robotic welding applications. Familiarity with offline programming or robot simulation software. Experience in the launch of new automation processes and robotic cells. Understanding of how fixture design influences robot cycle time and movement. Knowledge of database systems, order-processing, inventory, and manufacturing software. Proficiency in internet-based software, word-processing, and spreadsheets.
