Category Software Engineering Job Locations US-IL-Niles Workplace Arrangement Hybrid Overview Shure is seeking senior engineers to join our critical embedded software development team. As a Senior Embedded Software Development Engineer, you will work in the Product Development Division designing, implementing, testing, and integrating real time, multitasking software for Shure's professional audio products. This role will work on architecture and design work as well as interacting with other engineering disciplines within Shure. This role will be hybrid based out of our Niles, IL office. Responsibilities Design, develop and test embedded software and associated components that are part of a software and hardware system for audio products. Development can consist of hardware drivers, embedded software applications, audio and control networking and networking protocols and related areas using C++ and C as the primary programming languages. Work as part of a cross-functional development team on product architecture as well as the software design implementation cutting edge audio products and technologies Estimate, organize, and document tasks Practice established software development methodologies and principles focusing on software architecture and design. Model designs using UML or similar methodologies as appropriate; develop use cases to model real-time systems behavior Review the design and code developed by peer engineers. Engage in unit, integration and testing of software components and systems. Other duties as assigned Qualifications BS degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or Computer Electrical Engineering; MS a plus 5 or more years of requisite experience Demonstrated skills in C++ and/or C with object oriented design, analysis and programming. Experience using and designing software with networking protocols - Ethernet, IP, TCP/UDP as well as Wifi and other wireless protocols as well as exposure to network security and protocols a plus. Understanding of operating system concepts, embedded software development environment and tools for real-time embedded operating systems (RTOS), such as Embedded Linux, FreeRTOS or VxWorks. Experience with embedded system architectures, development environments and debugging. Hardware Driver development and hardware debugging exposure a plus Experience with software version control and release Demonstrated attention to detail and ability to analyze complex interdependent variables Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills Ability to work effectively within a team environment Quality consciousness Applicants for this position must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis. Shure offers a competitive compensation structure that is reviewed annually to attract, hire, and retain the industry's top talent. Base salaries vary based on qualifications, geography, experience, and expertise in each respective discipline. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum base salary for the opportunity. The base salary for this position ranges from $x to $x, with a target salary of $x-$x/with a midpoint target. This position may also be eligible for our incentive pay program, which varies based on individual and Company performance in the year.
