JOB SUMMARY
Responsible for leveraging SAP to deliver and implement moderate to highly complex technical solutions that add business value to the organization. Under minimal supervision, will perform program activities based on technical specifications and will be called upon to provide expert technical knowledge. Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and support for the application development team
Basic Qualifications:
Education Bachelor's degree or equivalent in relevant work experience. Advanced degree in computer science or equivalent work experience.
Preferred Experience/Skills:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Information Systems or at least 5-7+ years of experience in
SAP ABAP
development Understanding of EDI common standards and data mapping. Familiarity with commonly used technical concepts, practices, and procedures within SAP Comprehensive understanding of
SAP PI/PO
functionality and architecture Ability to create technical specifications based on functional requirement Proven ability to problem-solve, multitask, prioritize tasks effectively, and work independently in fast-paced environments
RESPONSIBILITIES
Translate business requirements into technical solutions and explain complex technical concepts in simple business terms. Design and develop technical solutions that align with established standards and business needs. Perform root cause analysis on application issues and implement long-term fixes; document solutions to build the support knowledge base. Evaluate current system capabilities, recommend necessary changes, and assess their business impact. Collaborate with stakeholders to agree on technical solutions before implementation. Ensure all technical documentation is accurate and updated as changes occur. Test technical changes and support business system analysts with functional, integration, regression, and user acceptance testing. Monitor and optimize ABAP programs using tools like Runtime Analysis, Code Inspector, SQL Trace, and System Log. Design overall system architecture and develop prototypes for major components. Follow DON's defined methods, standards, and policies for system development and operations Working Conditions This is a hybrid/remote role requiring candidates to be onsite 3 times per week and working 2 days from home Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States #
