Controls & Automation Software Engineer Our Client is seeking a Controls & Automation Software Engineer to program, integrate, commission, and troubleshoot control systems for U.S. government facilities worldwide, including U.S. embassies. Our Client is the exclusive Delta Controls partner serving the U.S. government market. This role combines software, controls, systems integration, and hands-on field work. Candidates do not need a traditional HVAC or building automation background; experience in software engineering, industrial automation, PLCs, embedded systems, robotics, or systems integration may translate well. Extensive international travel is required, with significant work in Europe and other global locations. Responsibilities Program and configure Delta Controls systems and related applications. Develop and modify control logic and graphical user interfaces. Integrate controllers, sensors, actuators, VFDs, and third-party equipment. Perform system startup, commissioning, testing, and troubleshooting. Diagnose software, hardware, networking, communication, and field-device issues. Review technical drawings, wiring diagrams, specifications, and sequences of operation. Document programming changes, configurations, and test results. Work with project managers, technicians, contractors, and customer personnel. Provide technical support and training as needed. Travel extensively to domestic and international project sites. Qualifications Experience in software development, controls, automation, systems integration, or a related technical field. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Experience working with software that interfaces with physical equipment or devices. Ability to read and interpret technical documentation and schematics. Ability to learn new control platforms and technologies quickly. Strong communication skills and ability to work independently in the field. Willingness and ability to travel internationally for extended assignments. Ability to obtain and maintain a valid U.S. passport. Ability to qualify for and maintain a U.S. government security clearance. Our Client will sponsor and manage the clearance process.
