Software documentation Project leadership Software architecture Full Job Description We are seeking an IBM i / RPG Lead Developer to support the development, enhancement, and maintenance of critical IBM i (AS/400) applications and database systems. This role will serve as a technical lead for RPG development initiatives while supporting modernization efforts and long-term enterprise systems. This is a contract-to-hire opportunity offering long-term stability, technical ownership, and the ability to work on complex back-office systems in a collaborative environment. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Design, develop, maintain, and enhance applications on the IBM i (AS/400) platform Serve as the technical lead for RPG development efforts Work independently on complex enhancements and production support Mentor junior developers Participate in application architecture, modernization efforts, and technical planning Support and improve long-running back office systems Other duties as required Qualifications Extensive hands-on IBM i experience (AS/400) Strong background in

RPG / RPGLE

(free-form preferred) Strong CL/CLLE skills Solid knowledge of IBM i (AS/400) DB2 and SQL Experience maintaining and enhancing accounting/costing systems Ability to work independently with minimal oversight Long-term ownership mindset for legacy systems Experience integrating IBM i applications with other systems Familiarity with modern development practices including source control, documentation, and coding standards Regular and reliable attendance, including the ability to work extended hours and weekends as required Additional Details Contract-to-hire opportunity Onsite role located in Fort Wayne Relocation assistance available for qualified candidates Opportunity to lead modernization initiatives within a stable enterprise environment
