As a Software Developer Principal, the work you'll do at GDIT will be impactful to the mission of

support. You will play a crucial role in supporting cutting edge solutions to the unique requirements of our clients. Support all phases of the software development lifecycle Collaborate with user/business needs and functionality to plan and design software systems to meet those needs Assists with creating a variety of models and diagrams that show programmers the software code needed for an application Performs software updates, refinement, testing, and debugging to meet business needs Uses programming, analysis, design, debugging, testing, and documentation tools to build and maintain high-quality, enterprise-wide software solutions. Provides analysis for reports on software project specifications, activities, or status Advises on the software or system for optimal documentation and future maintenance and updates May coach and provide guidance to less experienced professionals Assists in research, design, and development on application software
WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED

Education:
BA/BS degree (additional years considered in lieu of degree)
Experience:
5+ years of related Linux experience Technical skills: C, C++, Linux, System/Software Design, GitLab and Java, Compiling code using GCC and Make file systems Security clearance level: Active secret clearance OR previously held secret clearance preferred, must have ability to obtain interim clearance US citizenship required Role requirements: History of developing applications and troubleshooting issues within the code, Writing in C, C++ along with development of scripts
