The position includes supporting, maintaining, and enhancing our custom developed business operations software system. The role requires a software engineer that can listen to and analyze business requirements and turn those into well written, easy to use, and highly automated workflows. This has great potential for either an experienced developer or a junior developer just getting started. This is a full-time, on-site position located at our corporate headquarters in Southwick, MA, offering long-term growth potential. Responsibilities Support, maintain, and enhance business operations applications written in C Design and develop systems that support core business functions including: Inventory Control, Warehouse Management, Order Entry, Production Tracking, Accounting, and Cross-departmental Reporting Automate and streamline workflows using vendor & customer API's Maintain large relational databases using Actian Btrieve and Zen SQL Communicate effectively with internal users to gather requirements, implement improvements, train users, and troubleshoot issues Participate in ongoing efforts to develop web-based utilities Develop mobile solutions for warehouse automation Utilize AI as a tool to enhance program development Qualifications A solid understanding of software design and computer programming Knowledge of C programming language (or similar languages and willingness to learn) Understanding of relational database and optimizing indexes Strong troubleshooting skills Logical, analytical, structured, and organized mindset Comfortable communicating with end users to understand business requirements Strong desire to learn new skills Bachelor's degree in Computer Science preferred Must be able to pass a background check (signed release needed) Must be eligible to work in the US without sponsorship
