Summary T2S Solutions is currently hiring a Coalition Interoperability Subject Matter Expert (SME) at Aberdeen Proving Ground. The Army Next Generation Command and Control (NGC2) Coalition Interoperability Subject Matter Expert (SME) will serve as the primary technical, operational, and policy advisor to the Command and Control Future Capability Directorate (C2 FCD) for ensuring NGC2 capabilities are fully interoperable with U.S. Allies and Mission Partners across the human, procedural, and technical domains. The SME will focus on enabling seamless integration and interoperability of NGC2 technologies at echelon in coalition environments. This includes system-of-systems integration, data architecture and standards alignment, technology refresh, architecture assessments, automation opportunities, and technical insertion planning. The position requires deep knowledge of both NGC2 modernization efforts and established multinational interoperability frameworks (including ABCANZ, FMN, STANAGs, and MIP) to reduce integration friction and enable effective combined operations with allies. The SME maintains a detailed understanding of NATO, coalition, U.S., and partner interoperability policies, standards, architectures, and programs; assesses how they enable, constrain, or influence coalition operations and capability development; identifies interoperability risks and opportunities; advises capability sponsors and operational users; and supports the integration of interoperable solutions to improve multinational readiness, agility, and operational effectiveness. Responsibilities Perform detailed system-of-systems integration analysis across hardware, software, networks, applications, interfaces, data services, infrastructure, ontologies, schemas, and supporting technologies to enable effective NGC2 interoperability with U.S. Allies and Mission Partners at echelon. Analyze and interpret NATO, coalition, U.S., and partner interoperability policies, standards, and architectures, advising stakeholders on their operational relevance and impact on NGC2 capability development and employment. Assess current and emerging NGC2 architectures, data standards, and technical solutions for compatibility with Allied C2 systems, with specific focus on alignment with ABCANZ standards, Federated Mission Networking (FMN) standards, NATO STANAGs, MIP (Multilateral Interoperability Programme) Standards, and related coalition frameworks. Identify interoperability opportunities, gaps, risks, and dependencies across multinational capabilities, systems, and programs, and provide actionable recommendations to mitigate risks and exploit opportunities. Conduct technology refresh audits and develop technology refresh assessments and roadmaps focused on reducing obsolescence, technical debt, and interoperability barriers with partner nations. Evaluate technical and operational workflows to identify opportunities for automation, orchestration, process improvement, and reduction of manual effort in coalition C2 environments. Design, assess, or recommend automation, integration, and data-sharing solutions that support configuration, deployment, monitoring, testing, analytics, and lifecycle management in a multi-national setting. Conduct technology scouting and evaluate emerging commercial, Government, and developmental technologies for applicability to NGC2 coalition operations. Develop technology insertion recommendations that clearly identify how and when new capabilities should be introduced into existing and future NGC2 environments to maximize allied interoperability. Conduct technical trade studies and analyses of alternatives in support of engineering, modernization, and acquisition decisions related to coalition C2. Evaluate current-state, transition-state, and objective architectures with emphasis on data fabrics, semantic interoperability, ontologies, schemas, and cross-domain information exchange with mission partners. Assess advanced AI/ML and data analytics capabilities for applicability to automation, systems integration, decision support, and coalition interoperability initiatives. Assess the interoperability implications of proposed technical solutions, system architectures, and information exchange requirements. Support the development of coalition interoperability roadmaps and implementation plans. Support technical demonstrations, prototypes, pilots, experimentation events, integration activities, and tests involving NGC2 and allied systems. Support interoperability testing, validation, and assurance activities (including CIAV-related efforts) to confirm operational effectiveness in multinational environments. Provide independent technical assessments of vendor-proposed solutions and recommend alternative approaches where appropriate to improve coalition interoperability. Provide actionable recommendations supporting decisions to retain, automate, refresh, replace, integrate, consolidate, modernize, or retire technologies, systems, and processes in support of NGC2 coalition operations. Provide subject matter expertise to capability development, experimentation, acquisition, and operational planning activities. Actively participate in and support key coalition interoperability forums, including ABCANZ, Federated Mission Networking, STANAG development, Coalition Interoperability Assurance and Validation (CIAV) working groups, and MIP (Multilateral Interoperability Programme) efforts. Represent the organization at multinational interoperability forums, working groups, exercises, and experimentation events. Build and maintain relationships with allies, partners, government organizations, industry, and capability sponsors to advance interoperability objectives. Facilitate collaboration between operational users, technical experts, and programme teams to resolve interoperability challenges. Monitor emerging interoperability initiatives, standards, and technologies, identifying opportunities to improve coalition integration. Capture and disseminate lessons identified and best practice from exercises, operations, and experimentation activities. Act as a trusted advisor on multinational command and control, data exchange, information sharing, and coalition integration challenges. Develop and deliver high-quality written products (information papers, technical assessments, roadmaps, EXSUMs, briefings, and trip reports) and participate in working groups, exercises, and senior leader engagements as required. Minimum Qualifications U.S. citizen with an active SECRET security clearance (TS/SCI preferred) Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related technical field (Master's degree preferred) Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in Command and Control (C2), Mission Command systems, systems engineering, or coalition interoperability Demonstrated knowledge of ABCANZ standards, Federated Mission Networking (FMN) standards, NATO STANAGs, MIP (Multilateral Interoperability Programme) Standards, and CIAV working groups Strong working knowledge of data-centric architectures, common data layers, ontologies, schemas, interfaces, and information exchange requirements in coalition environments. Experience conducting system-of-systems analysis, technology assessments, trade studies, or architecture evaluations Proven ability to produce high-quality technical writing (assessments, roadmaps, information papers, and briefings) Experience supporting or observing military exercises involving Joint and/or multinational forces Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint) Preferred Qualifications Advanced degree (Master's or higher) in a relevant technical or operational field. ABCANZ, NATO

STANAG, FMN, MIP, or CIAV-related working groups and standards development. Experience with AI/ML applications in C2, analytics, automation, or decision support. Prior work with Program Executive Offices (PEO), Project Managers (PM), Army Coalition Interoperability Assurance and Validation (CIAV), or Capability Development Integration Directorates on interoperability or modernization efforts. Experience supporting technology insertion, prototype evaluations, or large-scale experimentation efforts. Previous service as a staff officer (BDE or higher) in a Joint or multinational environment. Strong public speaking and briefing skills to senior leaders and multinational audiences.
