JOB SUMMARY
Are you someone who enjoy solving problems, working with customers, and seeing an idea turned into a finished product? We're looking for an Application Engineer/Abrasives Specialist to join our team and become a key technical resource for our abrasive products and applications. This is a hands-on position that combines engineering, customer support, troubleshooting, and manufacturing. You'll work closely with customers and our internal teams to understand application needs, recommend solutions, troubleshoot performance issues, and help develop abrasives products that get the job done. You'll spend time in both the office and on the manufacturing floor, working directly with our products and processes. The role offers the opportunity to learn the ins and outs of abrasive manufacturing, work though challenging technical problems, and make recommendations that have a direct impact on our customers and products. Position Overview (Description)
Major Areas of Responsibility:
  • Support Sales as they relate to Aftermarket Tooling, Abrasives, Spare Parts and promoting Service.
  • Seek out, grow and develop abrasive and tool rework opportunities.
  • Review customer processes, and suggest and act on improvements, and optimizing customer tooling.
  • Develop customer relationships through technical expertise, service and support.
Primary Objectives:
  • Grow the abrasive and tooling business to new applications and customers.
  • Keep and maintain all current business.
  • Act as the technical expert for abrasives and tooling solutions.
  • Generate revenue by sales.
  • Earning Customer Loyalty and Trust.
Specific Responsibilities of the position:
Develop business case for new customers and abrasive application. Formulate solutions and meet customer requirements to grow the abrasive and tooling business Meet with all Abrasive customers to ensure we are providing them with what is needed and expected.
Required Skills and Abilities:
  • Knowledge of honing abrasives and related manufacturing processes
  • Tool cleaning and assembly
  • Be able to discuss diamond and borzon abrasives
  • Be willing to travel to all customer sites
  • Be able to check tool for proper grind
  • Be able to adjust machine parameters to successfully complete stone trials and tests
  • Capable of setting goals and working with minimal supervision to achieve the goals Work Environment / Physical Demands Work is performed in a manufacturing setting with exposure to machinery, noise, and temperature variations.
This role requires regular walking, standing, bending, and lifting of materials or equipment, and employees must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. while following all safety procedures and PPE requirements.
