Software Engineering Lead TGW Systems Inc - 3.6 Grand Rapids, MI Job Details Full-time 3 hours ago Qualifications Computer operation Computer literacy Full Job Description The Software Engineering Lead is a leadership position that guides multi-disciplinary team members in all aspects of software engineering including development, testing, commissioning, and support. This role reports to and supports a Software Engineering Manager in leading a multi-disciplinary group of team members in day-to-day task management, training, and career development.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Provide dedicated training and mentorship to direct reports, fostering professional growth Conduct code reviews and mentor team members for best practices Serve as a subject matter technical expert to the direct reports Perform as an individual contributor to assigned projects at a reduced capacity Collaborate with project team members to deliver high quality and successful software implementations that meet the business goals of the customer Write and review technical specifications for custom modifications Maintain and improve team knowledge assets (Confluence Pages on standards, troubleshooting guides, etc.) to improve supportability and reduce recurring issues Provide start-up and post go-live support to customer sites. Participate in the on-call rotation for 3rd and 4th level support Performs additional duties as assigned.

Education:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent work experience.

Experience:

3 plus years of software engineering experience. Experience leading teams, conducting code reviews, and mentoring team members for best practices is preferred.

Travel:

Up to 25% domestic and international travel. Skills & Abilities Experience with integrated development environment(s) (IDEs) Strong understanding of TGW Systems processes and solution implementation Familiarity with software development principles, agile methods, unit testing, and automated and functional testing. Ability to communicate effectively with a variety of audiences, internal and external. Physical Requirements Ability to remain stationary at a desk for prolonged periods of time. Ability to go to site frequently and move safely around industrial and/or warehouse environment. Ability to lift and carry supplies up to 25 pounds at a time. Ability to operate computers, tablets, phones, and other electronic devices. Ability to communicate with others verbally and in writing, on a frequent basis. Ability to tolerate exposure to job site temperature fluctuations due to seasonal weather in geographic region.
