Travel:
Approximately 5%
Location:
Sterling Heights, MI We are seeking a Software Integration Engineer with experience integrating and testing real-time, embedded software. This role will support the integration of software applications and hardware components within combat vehicle systems. The engineer will work with Red Hat Enterprise Linux, embedded systems, networking, hardware/software integration, cybersecurity hardening, troubleshooting, and software verification testing. Responsibilities Integrate and test software applications running on Red Hat Enterprise Linux. Integrate hardware and software components on combat vehicle systems. Build and maintain software and hardware integration testbeds. Use Ethernet and CAN bus technologies to test and troubleshoot system issues. Troubleshoot technical problems and analyze collected data. Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering and vehicle test teams. Support software verification and integration activities. Work with Git and Jira/GitLab configuration management tools. Apply critical thinking to solve technical problems. Communicate effectively with engineering teams and customers. Required Qualifications U.S. Citizenship required. Must be able to obtain a DoD Secret Security Clearance. Bachelor's degree in a STEM field. 2+ years of software integration experience. Experience integrating software applications on Red Hat Enterprise Linux . Experience with software packaging, including RPMs and binary executables. Understanding of drivers, shared objects, and static libraries. Experience with hardware/software integration and testing. Understanding of Ethernet and CAN bus protocols. Experience with Git and Jira/GitLab. Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work on combat vehicle systems. Ability to travel approximately 5%. Preferred Qualifications Embedded systems experience. VxWorks or other RTOS experience. C/C++ programming. Bash, PowerShell, or Python scripting.
