Job Description

Battery Performance Engineer We are seeking a Battery Performance Engineer to support automotive battery testing for performance and reliability of Hyundai, Kia, and Genesis electrified vehicles.

We are an engineering group at HATCI that focuses on battery research and development for vehicle production and future mobility. As an overseas research arm of a Korean company, we specialize in North American development opportunities and support local manufacturing and development.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
Designing and executing battery performance tests on vehicles, battery systems, and cellsComparing product features against competitor products and industry standardsCommunicating directions and needs, including ownership of presentations, reports, and meetingsCollaborating with many groups - local manufacturing sites, technology and material vendors, Korean counterparts, internal business and engineering teams
WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO THE ROLE
Basic:
Bachelor of Science degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Systems Engineering, Reliability Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrochemical Engineering or related fieldVehicle electrification technology and high voltage battery systems knowledgeNumerical analysis and data-driven decision-making skillsClear and organized communication skills
Preferred:
Master of Science degree in related fieldElectrified vehicle experience, including some of the following:battery testing, failure analysisquality issue analysis and management processescollaborating with major automotive OEMs or Tier 1 suppliersmanaging vendor relationships and long term test plansBattery reliability/safety test and system improvement activitiesIndustry standards of battery performance tests and failure analysis knowledgeFamiliarity with vehicle diagnostics and vehicle communication protocolsExperience with INCA software from
