Job Description

Job Description Position Overview:
We are seeking a hands-on Technical Solutions Architect to guide the design and delivery of an enterprise costing and profitability platform. The solution will combine manufacturing and financial data from multiple ERP systems and facilities to provide a more accurate view of product costs and profitability.

The core costing logic has already been developed primarily in SQL. This architect will evaluate the current approach, recommend the right future-state architecture, and help guide the solution through implementation. The role will also provide direction around data pipelines, integrations, modeling, and the Power BI user experience.

This is not a purely strategic architecture role. The ideal candidate can provide technical guidance while remaining involved in design decisions, problem-solving, and implementation.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Evaluate the existing SQL-based costing model, data structure, pipelines, and Power BI approach.
  • Recommend a practical and scalable architecture based on the work already completed.
  • Guide technical decisions around SQL, data modeling, integrations, pipelines, and reporting.
  • Determine where the current solution should be retained, optimized, or redesigned.
  • Design an approach for combining data across multiple ERP systems, manufacturing facilities, and production processes.
  • Help maintain traceability as materials, components, labor, overhead, yield, and scrap move through the manufacturing process.
  • Guide the development of a business-friendly Power BI solution with strong usability, navigation, and drill-down capabilities.
  • Partner with the Technical Project Manager to define technical priorities, dependencies, resources, and delivery milestones.
  • Provide technical direction to SQL developers, data engineers, BI developers, and other project resources.
  • Help resolve complex technical and data issues without continuously rebuilding the solution.
  • Design the platform to support future ERP integrations, acquired businesses, and additional manufacturing locations.
  • Remain involved through implementation to ensure the recommended architecture becomes a working production solution.
We are a company committed to creating inclusive environments where people can bring their full, authentic selves to work every day. We are an equal opportunity employer that believes everyone matters. Qualified candidates will receive consideration for employment opportunities without regard to race, religion, sex, age, marital status, national origin, sexual orientation, citizenship status, disability, or any other status or characteristic protected by applicable laws, regulations, and ordinances. If you need assistance and/or a reasonable accommodation due to a disability during the application or recruiting process, please send a request to Human Resources Request Form. The EEOC "Know Your Rights" Poster is available here. Skills and Requirements
  • Experience architecting and delivering enterprise data, analytics, or business intelligence solutions.
  • Advanced SQL, relational database, and data-modeling experience.
  • Experience integrating data from multiple ERP systems or other complex source systems.
  • Strong understanding of data pipelines, ETL/ELT, data warehouses, and reporting layers.
  • Experience designing Power BI solutions for business users.
  • Ability to evaluate an existing technical solution and recommend what should be retained, improved, or redesigned.
  • Experience providing hands-on technical guidance during implementation, not just creating high-level architecture.
  • Ability to explain technical decisions and tradeoffs to both developers and business leaders.
  • Microsoft Fabric, Azure, Snowflake, Python, or similar modern data-platform experience.
  • Manufacturing, cost accounting, profitability, finance, or supply-chain data experience.
  • Experience with complex bills of materials and product-cost traceability.
  • Experience working with multiple ERP systems.
  • Medical device, life sciences, or another regulated industry background.
  • Consulting or advisory experience.
  • Experience designing solutions that support acquisitions and future system integrations.
We are a company committed to creating diverse and inclusive environments where people can bring their full, authentic selves to work every day. We are an equal employment opportunity/affirmative action employer that believes everyone matters. Qualified candidates will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, ethnicity, religion, sex (including pregnancy), sexual orientation, gender identity and expression, marital status, national origin, ancestry, genetic factors, age, disability, protected veteran status, military or uniformed service member status, or any other status or characteristic protected by applicable laws, regulations, and ordinances. If you need assistance and/or a reasonable accommodation due to a disability during the application or the recruiting process, please send a request to HR@insightglobal.com.
