Job description ScioTeq is building the next generation of mission-critical visualization, avionics, computing, and defense technology solutions for customers operating in the world's most demanding environments. Our products support aerospace, defense, air traffic control, and advanced ground vehicle platforms where performance, reliability, and innovation matter. We are looking for a highly technical, customer-focused US Senior Application Engineer who thrives at the intersection of engineering, product strategy, and complex solution selling. This is not a traditional sales support role, this is a strategic technical leadership position that reports to the Chief Commercial Officer and works side-by-side with our customers to solve their problems, hopefully with ScioTeq solutions. If you enjoy solving hard technical problems, engaging directly with customer engineering teams, shaping solutions, and helping close strategic opportunities, we want to talk to you. The US Senior Application Engineer supports the Sales and Product Management organization in complex solution selling by providing in-dept technical expertise and a hands-on mentality. The position develops a strong relationship with the engineering department of the important customers and strategic projects, as well as internally, to discuss and analyze independent possible solutions for the customer's complex problems and needs. Key ResponsibilitiesServe as a primary technical interface between customers and internal teams during strategic pursuits and active programsBuild strong working relationships with customer engineering, systems architecture, and program management organizationsLead technical discovery discussions to understand customer requirements, operational challenges, and integration constraintsSupport customer meetings, demonstrations, technical interchange meetings (TIMs), trade shows, and program reviewsTranslate complex technical concepts into clear customer value propositionsAnalyze customer requirements and help define optimal technical architectures and product configurationsCollaborate with Product Management and Engineering teams to identify product gaps, enhancements, and roadmap opportunitiesAssist in defining system-level solutions involving hardware, software, networking, display management, cybersecurity, and open architecturesSupport technical risk analysis and mitigation planning during pursuit activitiesLead development of technical proposal content, compliance matrices, solution descriptions, and technical responsesSupport US government, prime contractor, and defense-related proposal efforts, including US-eyes-only opportunitiesProvide voice-of-customer feedback to influence future product developmentMentor junior sales engineers and support the development of technical sales best practicesAdhere to company procedures and instructions to contribute to the effectiveness of the quality and environmental management system and to minimize environmental impact. Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related technical field
  • 5+ years of experience in: Sales Engineering, Systems Engineering, Product Management or Aerospace & Defense technical sales
  • Strong technical understanding of one or more of the following: Avionics systems, Mission displays, Open architectures (MOSA/SOSA), Ruggedized electronics
  • Aerospace certification environments
  • Experience supporting complex technical proposals and customer pursuits
  • Ability to communicate effectively with both engineering teams and executive leadership
  • Strong presentation, writing, and technical communication skills
  • Ability to travel internationally and domestically as required
  • US Person required Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting US defense programs or prime contractors
  • Familiarity with
DO-160, DO-178, DO-254, ARINC
661, or military standards
  • Experience with government procurement environments, OTA programs, or defense acquisition processes
  • Knowledge of AI-enabled systems, edge computing, or advanced visualization technologies
