Responsibilities Design, build, and maintain scalable microservices and backend services using Java and Spring Boot Develop and support RESTful APIs and enterprise integrations with internal systems, third-party platforms, and SaaS tools Apply microservices, domain-driven design, and event-driven architecture principles to create resilient solutions Build reusable backend components while following coding, security, and architecture standards Implement patterns that support high availability, including caching, messaging, load balancing, and service discovery Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth data flow, system interoperability, and reliable delivery Write and maintain unit, integration, contract, and end-to-end tests to support software quality Troubleshoot production issues and support root cause analysis using logs, monitoring, and tracing tools Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, automation, and DevOps practices that improve deployment and release processes Develop responsive user interfaces and integrate frontend features using React and modern JavaScript/TypeScript Partner with product, technical, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into practical technical solutions Skills Strong experience with Java and Spring Boot Hands-on background in microservices and distributed systems Experience designing and consuming REST APIs Knowledge of API gateways, messaging, caching, and resiliency patterns Proficiency with React, TypeScript/JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS3 Experience with SQL and/or NoSQL databases Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, and AWS Testing experience with JUnit, Mockito, and related frameworks Understanding of CI/CD tools and modern DevOps practices Ability to collaborate effectively across technical and non-technical teams Strong troubleshooting, communication, and problem-solving skills Preferred Skills Experience with Kafka or RabbitMQ Familiarity with JPA/Hibernate Exposure to Swagger/OpenAPI and SonarQube Experience with GitHub Actions or Jenkins Knowledge of monitoring, logging, and performance profiling tools Background working in enterprise environments with multiple integrated systems Ability to contribute to architectural discussions and technical decision-making Horizontal is committed to fostering an inclusive, respectful, and equitable workplace where diverse perspectives are valued.
