Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
Liaise with campus departments for IT integrations and support needs related to vended applications Develop and maintain positive and collaborative relationships within IT, campus departments and other academic leaders Collaborate with teams across the UM System to review and assess available software and identify opportunities for enterprise-wide solutions Maintain knowledge of vended applications to identify use cases for other areas of campus to solve technical needs within currently available vended applications Coordinate with IT Security for best practice and compliance for application authentication, account permission, security group management, administrative access and data security (FERPA, HIPAA, GLBA, university data classification, etc.) Have a familiarity with project management principles (agile, scrum, waterfall, etc.) to understand connections, dependencies and requirements of providing services Develop low-code/no-code solutions to prototype solutions for requirements gathering to identify solutions with campus groups Provide backup for department application administrators, as necessary and defined with the departments in a vended application support agreement Monitor software, analyze problems, and collaborate with department(s) to enhance features and resolve issues with vended applications, including security vulnerabilities, accessibility requirements, data feed updates, and future updates Draft and maintain documentation for vended applications, including data diagrams and dictionaries with understanding in SQL, API and data feed mechanisms Work with customers to ensure proper integration of applications with knowledge in SSO (Azure/Entra AD), DNS/DKIM, SFTP, API and other technical requirements Have a working knowledge for application infrastructure, coding, change management, application development cycle and user interface/experience Collaborate on upgrades/new feature schedules with departments, ensuring business operations will operate correctly in current and future environments Other tasks as assigned or identified in supporting vended applications on campus Minimum Qualifications A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Science or related field At least three years of higher education institution experience and related applications/software (e.g Learning Management System, Recruitment and Student Support software) experience required Preferred Qualifications Excellent verbal and written communication skills Self-motivated, able to work independently, and takes initiative Outstanding attention to detail with superior time and project management skills Adept at reading, writing, and interpreting technical documentation and procedure manuals Ability to present ideas and solutions in user-friendly language Ability to work through non-standard support issues Experience in process automation, best practice approach, technology efficiency, and effectiveness Understand the workflow and process requirements of business units related to application(s) Familiarity with supporting desktop software applications and the computer/device operating system Anticipated Hiring Range The anticipated hiring range for this position has been established as $55,000-$74,485 annually. Salary is determined by a variety of factors, including but not limited to, the individual's particular combination of education, skills, and experience, as well as organizational requirements.
