Our customers include equipment manufacturers, systems integrators, contractors, consulting engineers, and end users across the Building Automation, Energy, Security, Asset Monitoring, Industrial IoT, and National Accounts markets. As a member of the Lynxspring Sales Support Team, the Application Engineer serves as a trusted technical resource for our Business Partners, customers, and internal Sales organization. This position applies application engineering expertise to evaluate, recommend, and support Lynxspring solutions that help our Business Partners successfully design and deploy building automation systems. Working collaboratively with Sales, Product Management, Customer Success, and Engineering, the Application Engineer provides technical guidance throughout the sales process by assisting with product selection, controller sizing, system architecture, application reviews, integrations, quotations, and technical problem-solving. The role is centered on enabling the success of our Business Partners through engineering expertise, product knowledge, and responsive technical support. The ideal candidate enjoys solving technical challenges, collaborating with customers and Business Partners, and sharing knowledge that contributes to successful project outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
Serve as a trusted technical resource for Lynxspring Business Partners, customers, and the Sales organization. Assist with controller selection, hardware recommendations, licensing, I/O sizing, and system architecture. Review project drawings, specifications, sequences of operation, and bills of material for technical accuracy. Provide application engineering guidance for HVAC controls, Niagara Framework, BACnet, Modbus, and related building automation technologies. Support the preparation and review of quotations and technical solution recommendations. Participate in customer meetings as the technical subject matter expert to assist with solution development and product selection. Assist Business Partners with complex application questions, controller logic strategies, integrations, and technical troubleshooting. Deliver technical product demonstrations, presentations, and training for customers, Business Partners, and internal teams. Collaborate with Product Management, Engineering, Customer Success, and Sales to improve products, processes, and the overall customer experience. Develop and maintain technical resources, application guides, best practices, and engineering tools that improve efficiency and partner success. Maintain current knowledge of Lynxspring products, Niagara Framework, and emerging building automation technologies. The employee will be made aware of the Quality Policy and Quality Objectives and how they can contribute to them.
Experience & Qualifications:
4+ years of progressively responsible experience in Building Automation Systems (BAS), HVAC controls, industrial automation, or related automation disciplines. Equivalent combinations of education, technical training, and demonstrated technical ability will also be considered. Working knowledge of HVAC equipment, building automation systems, control strategies, and system integrations. Experience designing, implementing, commissioning, or supporting BAS applications. Ability to interpret mechanical drawings, specifications, sequences of operation, and construction documents. Working knowledge of Niagara Framework and Niagara N4 preferred. Experience with BACnet, Modbus, and other building automation communication protocols. Experience selecting controllers, reviewing I/O requirements, and recommending system architectures. Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to customers and Business Partners. Ability to work collaboratively across Sales, Engineering, Product Management, and Customer Success teams. Up to 30% travel will be required.
