Job Description

Piper Companies is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to lead the design and development of a platform that provides real-time visibility into Common Criteria certification programs and projects. This individual will be responsible for building enterprise web applications, dashboards, workflow automation tools, and reporting platforms that enable stakeholders to track overall program progress. This is a long-term open-ended contract opportunity supporting cross-functional teams including Common Criteria program managers, security engineers, certification teams, and executive leadership. This opportunity will also be hybrid 2 days onsite in RTP, NC . Responsibilities for the
Senior Software Engineer:
  • Design, develop, and maintain a web-based platform for managing Common Criteria certification programs and projects.
  • Build real-time dashboards that provide visibility into project status, milestones, deliverables, dependencies, certification activities, and program health.
  • Develop and optimize workflows for tracking Security Targets (STs), Protection Profiles (PPs), evaluation activities, lab findings, certification milestones, and project risks.
  • Design and develop RESTful APIs, backend services, and microservices that aggregate certification and project data into a centralized platform.
  • Develop analytics and reporting solutions that provide insights into certification timelines, bottlenecks, resource utilization, and overall project performance.
  • Collaborate with product managers, Common Criteria subject matter experts, security teams, and business stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver scalable solutions.
  • Lead system architecture decisions, establish engineering best practices, and ensure application security, reliability, scalability, and performance.
Qualifications for the
Senior Software Engineer:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • 6+ years of experience developing enterprise software applications.
  • Strong experience designing and building modern web-based applications and software platforms.
  • Proficiency in one or more modern programming languages including Python, TypeScript, or Go.
  • Experience developing RESTful APIs, backend services, and microservice-based architectures.
  • Strong knowledge of cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud Platform.
  • Hands-on experience with modern front-end frameworks including React, Angular, or Vue.
  • Experience building dashboards, workflow management systems, reporting platforms, or data-driven business applications.
  • Experience integrating multiple data sources and enterprise systems into centralized platforms.
  • Previous experience supporting cybersecurity, compliance, certification, governance, or regulated environment initiatives is highly preferred.
Compensation for the
Senior Software Engineer:
    Salary Range:
    $140,000 - $160,000
