THE TYPE OF SOFTWARE DEVELOPER WE'RE LOOKING FOR
We're searching for someone who can meet the following qualifications: U.S. Citizenship is required Must be able to obtain a Public Trust clearance Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field 5+ years of relevant software development experience Strong knowledge of FAA standards Experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP cloud platforms Experience developing software using Java, Angular, Spring Boot, or similar technologies Experience developing applications within cloud or hybrid environments Familiarity with Agile development methodologies Experience with DevSecOps practices Experience developing RESTful APIs Experience working within microservices architectures Preferred qualifications include prior experience supporting FAA programs, NAS systems, or aviation-related software environments, along with demonstrated knowledge of FAA standards and operational requirements.
WHAT IT'S LIKE TO BE OUR SOFTWARE DEVELOPER
As our Software Developer, you'll play a critical role in supporting FAA modernization initiatives by designing, developing, testing, and maintaining enterprise-grade software solutions that drive mission success. Your day may begin by participating in architecture and design reviews where you'll help shape technical solutions, followed by translating system and business requirements into clean, scalable code. You'll collaborate closely with systems engineers, cybersecurity professionals, and project stakeholders to ensure requirements are met while supporting CI/CD and DevSecOps pipelines that keep development moving efficiently. Throughout the day, you'll conduct code reviews, develop and execute unit, integration, and regression tests, troubleshoot software and system integration challenges, create technical documentation, and ensure all solutions meet federal compliance and security standards. You'll also contribute to verification and validation activities, readiness reviews, and modernization efforts while continuously identifying opportunities to improve automation, efficiency, and development processes. This is a full-time onsite position located at the FAA William J. Hughes Technical Center in Egg Harbor Township, NJ.
