full-time Brooksource is seeking a Junior Software Engineer to join our Fortune 500 banking client in their New York City Office. In this role, you will work closely with Software Engineers, AI specialists, and business stakeholders to develop internal applications that modernize and automate existing business processes. These applications support corporate finance teams and other internal business functions, leveraging AI, data, and software solutions to replace manual or outdated workflows. This position is ideal for recent graduates from universities or boot-camps, veterans, or individuals with up to one year of professional IT experience and a long term interest in technology. September 2026 We are unable to provide sponsorship currently Key Responsibilities Design, develop, and maintain internal web applications used by corporate business teams. Build backend services and business logic using Python. Develop modern user interfaces using React.js. Integrate applications with APIs, data sources, and AI/LLM services. Collaborate with engineers, product stakeholders, and business users to understand requirements and deliver solutions. Participate in application testing, troubleshooting, and production support activities. Contribute to process automation and AI-driven business initiatives. Assist with database development, data analysis, and reporting solutions. Learn and apply best practices in software engineering, code quality, and system design. Participate in Agile development activities including sprint planning, standups, and code reviews. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, or related field OR equivalent experience (bootcamp graduates welcome). Experience with Python for backend development, automation, API integrations, or business logic. Experience with React.js for frontend application development. Understanding of software development fundamentals, object-oriented programming, and web application architecture. Familiarity with REST APIs and modern development tools. Basic knowledge of SQL and relational databases. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Ability to learn quickly and work effectively in a collaborative team environment. Preferred Skills Internship, co-op, academic project, or professional experience developing software applications. Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS. Experience using AI tools or LLM APIs such as OpenAI, Claude, Microsoft Copilot, or similar technologies. Familiarity with AI frameworks such as LangChain. Interest in Data Engineering, analytics, and workflow automation. Experience with Microsoft Power Platform technologies. Exposure to finance, accounting, or corporate business processes.
