Application Programmer Genesis10 life insurance, 401(k) United States, Jersey, Jersey City May 09, 2026 Genesis10 is currently seeking a Senior Java Developer for a contract position with a Global Financial Institution located in Charlotte, NC or Jersey City, NJ. This is a 12+ month contract opportunity. This role involves hands-on application development to support current and future-state processes. The successful candidate will partner with multiple technology teams to implement a target architecture and migrate to a strategic platform, focusing on Java, Big Data technologies, and performance tuning for data-intensive applications.

Responsibilities:

Perform hands-on application development to support current and target processes Partner with multiple technology teams to implement the target architecture and migrate to the strategic platform Client, ingest, and incorporate new sources of real-time, streaming, batch, and API-based data into the platform Load and manage large data sets in Hadoop Compute complex logic in Spark platforms Optimize data pipelines and queries for better performance and scalability

Requirements:

9+ years of experience in end-to-end Java application development Strong core Java skills including multi-threading, collections API, and JDBC Experience with frameworks like Spring, Spring Boot, JPA, and Hibernate Strong computer science fundamentals in design, data structures, and algorithms Knowledge of performance tuning data-intensive applications, performance profiling, and memory optimizations Expertise in SQL and NoSQL databases, as well as data integration and transformation tools Strong knowledge of big data technologies and frameworks, such as Apache Hadoop, Apache Spark, Apache Kafka, Apache Hive, or Apache Flink Strong problem-solving abilities to identify and resolve complex data engineering issues Leadership and mentoring skills Excellent communication skills BS/MS in Computer Science, Engineering, or any quantitative discipline Experience with software development in an Agile environment Desired skills: Background in enterprise stress testing Knowledge of risk (credit, operational and market) Knowledge of cloud computing or distributed computing 5+ years of experience in Java UI technologies such as HTML5, Angular JS, Backbone JS, or Bootstrap Pay range: $58.26 - $66.26 per hour Only candidates available and ready to work directly as Genesis10 employees will be considered for this position.
