The role is heavily hands-on, with the majority of time dedicated to software development using Core Java and Scala. • 5+ years of professional experience with Core Java development
• 2+ years of professional experience with Scala or other functional programming languages
• Experience writing Unit Tests and Acceptance/Behavior Tests
• Strong data structures, algorithms, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to deliver high-quality code in a timely manner
• Agile development experience (pair programming, daily stand-ups, sprint ceremonies)
• Experience working on shared codebases with Continuous Integration practices
• Demonstrated expertise within a business/problem domain from prior roles
• Experience working in Linux/Unix environments
• Willingness to participate in a production support rotation Strong team collaboration skills
• Message-oriented middleware experience (Kafka, AMQP, MQ, AMPS, etc.)
• Distributed systems development experience
• Web application development experience (JavaScript, AngularJS, Bootstrap)

REST API

design and development

• DDD, CQRS, and Event Sourcing experience
• Banking middle-office or back-office industry experience
• Scripting experience (Bash, Python, etc.)
• Automated deployment tools (Ansible, Puppet, Chef, Docker)
• Scala frameworks/libraries (Akka, Scalatra, RxScala, Scalactic, TypeLevel libraries) Understanding of Category Theory
