What We're Doing At Lockheed Martin Rotary and Mission Systems (RMS), we tackle some of the most complex challenges in defense through innovation, collaboration, and engineering excellence. Join a team developing software that supports critical military missile launching systems and helps deliver mission-ready capabilities to the U.S. Navy and our allies. The Work Lockheed Martin is seeking a Software Engineer to support our Advanced Launchers and Mk 41 Vertical Launching System (VLS) programs in Moorestown, NJ. You'll join a collaborative Software Engineering team developing and supporting real-time embedded software for mission-critical systems. In this role, you will: Plan, design, develop, integrate, test, debug, and document software. Apply object-oriented programming and software engineering principles to solve complex problems. Develop and implement solutions across the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC). Support software integration, verification, and test activities. Apply software configuration management practices and ensure engineering standards are met. Independently determine technical approaches and develop solutions to challenging software problems. Work closely with cross-functional engineering teams to deliver reliable, high-quality capabilities. - Proficiency with C++ in Linux environment
- Experience with Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC)
- Experience with Git
- Familiarity with Java
- Ability to obtain & maintain a U.S. DoD security clearance at the SECRET level Desired Skills
- Experience with or knowledge of government contract support
- Experience with or knowledge of large combat systems software development
- Familiarity with cybersecurity vulnerability assessments
- Comfort and ability working on physical lab equipment
- Ability to work independently, troubleshoot, problem-solve with support as needed
