Job Description

Genesis10 is currently seeking a Java Developer for a hybrid position (3 days onsite) with a Global Financial Institution located in Pennington, NJ. This is a 12+ month contract opportunity.

We are seeking a motivated Java Developer to join a trading technology team. This role offers a unique opportunity to work on a mission-critical platform that supports key trading functions for the client's business. The candidate will contribute to the development, testing, and support ofponents within the platform's large-scale cloud migration and modernization journey, providing strong exposure to modern cloud technologies and enterprise trading systems.

Responsibilities:

Contribute to the development, testing, and support ofponents within the trading platform's transformation roadmap

Write clean, testable code with a solid grounding in core Java and OOP concepts

Build and consume REST APIs using Spring Boot

Collaborate effectively within an agile team and with partner groups across Information Security, Infrastructure, and vendors

Take ownership of assigned deliverables and be proactive in asking questions

Requirements:

• Approximately 2 years of software engineering experience
• Solid grounding in core Java, OOP concepts, collections, and exception handling
• Experience with Spring Boot, including building and consuming REST APIs, dependency injection, and configuration management
• Working familiarity with Kafka, including producers, consumers, topics, and basic event-driven messaging patterns
• Experience with middleware technologies such as Kafka or MQ is a must
• Exposure to deploying and onboarding applications to a cloud platform (containerization, configuration, connectivity)
• Practical use of AI-assisted coding tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot) for code generation and refactoring
• Able to articulate technical updates, blockers, and design ideas clearly

Desired skills:

Experience in the trading domain is preferred

Exposure to SQL databases, Git, and CI/CD pipelines

Pay range: $55.06 - $63.06 per hour
