Essential Job Function:
Design, build, test, and maintain software applications that meet user or business requirements. The Application Developer translates functional needs into working code, ensures applications run reliably, and updates them to improve performance or add new features.
Qualifications and Skills:
Must have a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Computer Science or equivalent. Must have a minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience. Must possess a valid driver's license. Must have knowledge of PLC, SCADA, reporting tools, and database software and hardware platforms. Knowledge is preferred on a variety of platforms that are typically specified by the pharmaceutical industry including Rockwell, AVEVA, Microsoft SQL, PC, thin client, etc. Must have programming experience using the .NET framework and Microsoft Visual Studio. Experience with WPF (Windows Presentation Foundation) is preferred. Must have intensive knowledge of integrated automation, information systems, and network design as applied to industrial process control in the pharmaceutical industry. Must have experience with Linux operating system configuration and with Linux command line instructions. Must be proficient with Microsoft Windows OS system configuration and administration. Must be able to independently develop, test, and roll out new automation specific technical solutions. Must be able to maintain (existing) product baseline software including technical descriptions, sales information, documents, and operating manuals. Must be able to provide automation related technical guidance and support to staff within company. Must be able to recognize trends in the industry and make appropriate recommendations for modifying our automation systems to meet these emerging requirements. Must be aware of cGMP's procedures and practices and the implication on control system development and modifications. Must have good troubleshooting skills. Must be willing and able to travel up to 15% to customer sites to perform onsite service and provide onsite system s/w commissioning support for company control systems. Critical Success Factors 1. Proficiency with C# and or VB.net application development 2. Proficiency with Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF) and XAML 3. Familiarity with Visual Studio and GIT repositories 4.
