Ability to obtain Secret clearance required Position Overview We are seeking an experienced Software Configuration Manager (SCM) responsible for managing source code repositories, software builds, release baselines, and configuration control across multiple development teams. The role ensures traceability, reproducibility, and integrity of software builds and releases in accordance with organizational and regulatory requirements. The successful candidate will provide configuration management leadership, maintain development environments, and support automated build and deployment pipelines. Strong experience with IBM Rational ClearCase or similar enterprise configuration management tools is highly desirable. Key Responsibilities Configuration Management Establish and maintain configuration management (CM) policies, procedures, and standards. Manage version control and branching strategies within IBM Rational ClearCase repositories. Maintain configuration baselines and support change control processes. Ensure accurate documentation and traceability of software artifacts across development lifecycle stages. Source Code Repository Management Administer and maintain centralized source code repositories. Implement branching, merging, and tagging strategies for multiple development streams. Monitor repository integrity and enforce source control best practices. Coordinate repository access, permissions, and security controls. Build and Release Management Manage automated and manual build processes across development environments. Develop and maintain build scripts, packaging processes, and release procedures. Support continuous integration and release pipelines. Ensure reproducible builds and maintain build documentation. Configuration Auditing and Compliance Perform configuration audits to verify consistency between requirements, code, builds, and releases. Support internal and external audits related to configuration management. Ensure compliance with organizational policies and regulatory standards. Collaboration and Support Work closely with software developers, DevOps engineers, and program management teams. Provide configuration management support for development, testing, and deployment environments. Train development teams on source control and configuration management best practices. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or related field. 5+ years of experience in software configuration management or build engineering . Hands-on experience administering IBM Rational ClearCase repositories or similar enterprise SCM tools. Experience with software build tools and automation frameworks. Strong understanding of version control, branching strategies, and release management. Familiarity with software development lifecycle (SDLC) practices. Ability to work in secure or regulated development environments. Preferred Qualifications Experience supporting large-scale or mission-critical software development programs . Knowledge of modern version control systems such as Git. Experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps). Experience managing build environments for C/C++, Java, or embedded systems. Prior work in government, defense, or regulated industries. Security Clearance Candidates must be eligible to obtain a Secret clearance . Must be a U.S. citizen and able to comply with government security requirements.
