Food Application Engineer
Description The Application Engineer analyzes customer specifications, prepares technical and commercial proposals, coordinates equipment testing, and collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to deliver effective processing solutions and support customer success within the food industry. This role applies Hosokawa Micron Powder Systems technologies used for size reduction, classification, mixing, drying, compaction, and containment processes commonly utilized in food ingredient, nutraceutical, and powder processing applications. Responsibilities Identify and qualify prospective customer opportunities through phone, email, virtual, and in-person engagement.
Review and analyze customer specifications, process requirements, and application data to recommend appropriate equipment and process solutions.
Evaluate material characteristics and processing parameters to determine appropriate equipment configurations.
Prepare technical proposals, quotations, and cost estimates using standard business software and internal systems.
Coordinate and participate in customer equipment trials and testing activities domestically and internationally.
Maintain and manage customer opportunities, project records, and sales activity within the CRM system.
Analyze application requirements, sales data, and market trends to support business development efforts.
Collaborate with engineering, operations, and sales teams to ensure alignment of technical solutions with customer requirements.
Develop and maintain relationships with food processing companies, plant engineers, and production teams.
