Our client, a multinational telecommunications technology company, is looking for a Software Development Engineer contractor to independently design, build, and deliver software components that support AI-driven applications and machine learning systems.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and deliver software components and services supporting AI/ML-enabled applications using Java
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other developers to deliver features
• Assist in optimizing model performance and system latency across distributed environments
• Contribute to API design and backend development using REST
• Participate in code reviews to learn best practices and uphold coding standards

Required Skills Qualifications:

• 2+ years' experience and bachelor's degree or equivalent years of experience
• Demonstrated experience delivering software components or applications in a professional or project-based setting
• Hands-on experience with at least one programming language (Java, Go, Kotlin, C+
• )•Experience designing and implementing APIs or backend systems (RESTful APIs, microservices, etc.

• Familiarity with software testing practices, including unit and integration testing
• Ability to independently execute development tasks and deliver working solutions with minimal direction
• Familiarity with AI Tools and AI First mindset
