job summary: A growing manufacturer in the Lewis Center, OH area is seeking a skilled and motivated Embedded Systems Engineer with a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science and Engineering (CSE, ECE) or similar and 6+ years of related experience in embedded software design. The ideal candidate will have proficiency in C/C++ programming. Hands-on experience with Embedded Linux, Linux Kernel Distributions, Device Trees, and Real-Time Operating Systems (RTOS) are keys to success in this role. In this position, you will design, develop, and test embedded software for the company's products and applications, ensuring optimal performance, stability, and security. All candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future.
Collaborate with other engineering team members to define software requirements, specifications, and firmware architectures. Develop, maintain, and execute comprehensive test plans to validate software functionality within embedded Linux. Perform system-level debugging, troubleshooting, and performance corrections to resolve software-related issues. Maintain and update Linux Kernel device drivers. Assist in defining, specifying, and developing new hardware platforms. Document firmware release notes and product operational characteristics detailing the theory of operation and hardware-to-software interoperability.
