The client is seeking a Mainframe / COBOL Developer to join the IT Corporate Finance team in Columbus, OH. This onsite role focuses on developing, testing, maintaining, and optimizing COBOL programs, DB2 databases, and JCL batch jobs that support critical financial data processing, regulatory compliance, and executive reporting systems. Must Have Skills 3+ years of hands-on mainframe development experience with COBOL, JCL, DB2, VSAM, and Easytrieve. Proven proficiency with mainframe tools and utilities: File-AID, Abend-AID, andTSO/ISPF.
Experience with version control and release deployment using Changeman. Solid experience writing and managing JCL scripts for automated batch job execution. Hands-on experience troubleshooting batch job failures, root-cause analysis, and performance tuning in mainframe environments. Key Responsibilities Develop, test, maintain, upgrade, and optimize COBOL applications and JCL scripts for financial data processing. Translate business requirements from financial analysts and business partners into technical solution specifications. Collaborate with cross-functional teams (QA, Business Analysts, Data Engineers) to execute testing cycles and maintain data accuracy for regulatory compliance. Support production deployments, perform code reviews, maintain technical documentation, and adhere to corporate development standards. Monitor batch execution cycles and assist in resolving production incidents and job abends. Qualifications and Certifications Required Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related quantitative field. Must be able to work 100% Onsite in Columbus, OH.Preferred Experience:
Background in Oracle Financial Services Analytical Applications (OFSAA) andZEKE/ZENA
