Hours:
flexible around class schedule, potentially moving to a full time position Build and maintain the software a business actually runs on — Dot Net, Node/Express, React, data import/export (ETL) scripts, and the databases and infrastructure behind them. We want someone curious about software engineering to help part-time and get real experience writing and maintaining production code. No professional experience required. We use LLM tools as part of day-to-day development and testing — writing and reviewing code, drafting scripts, and troubleshooting. You'll learn to use them effectively and, just as importantly, how to verify their output. You'll get direct mentorship and exposure across the whole stack — servers, networking, web, databases, and hardware — the kind of practical experience that's hard to get from tutorials.
Job Requirements:
What you'll work on: Writing data import/export scripts (ETL) that move data between databases and applications Linux, Mac, and the command line Docker, KVM, and containers nginx, SSL, and self-hosted web applications MSSQL / MySQL / MariaDB databases DNS, VLAN, VPN and other networking fundamentals LLM-assisted development and testing What we're looking for: Some programming experience (any language) Reads error messages carefully instead of guessing Methodical — changes one thing at a time when troubleshooting Comfortable asking questions and learning in the open Curious, persistent and reliable Communicates clearly about what they did and what happened
