The Business Automation & Integration Developer at AKS is a hands-on builder responsible for designing, developing, integrating, and supporting digital workflows and business applications. This role works closely with discipline leaders, department leaders, subject matter experts, IT, and AI/automation leadership to understand existing processes and transform manual, spreadsheet-based, email-driven, or disconnected work into modern digital solutions. The ideal candidate is a hands-on builder who also enjoys working with people. They can sit with a discipline leader, learn a process, map it out, identify opportunities for improvement, and then build the Power App, Power Automate workflow, Dataverse structure, API connection, Fabric pipeline, or Power BI solution needed to improve it. What You'll Do Design, build, test, deploy, and maintain Microsoft Power Apps and Power Automate to replace manual, spreadsheet-based, and email-driven business processes. Build secure applications with appropriate roles, permissions, ownership, and supportability. Troubleshoot existing automations and continuously improve performance, reliability, and usability. Migrate legacy spreadsheets and manually maintained data into governed platforms where appropriate. Integrate Power Platform solutions with enterprise applications and automate data movement between systems. Troubleshoot API failures, authentication problems, schema changes, and synchronization issues. Support Microsoft Fabric and OneLake initiatives, including data ingestion, pipelines, transformations, and data quality activities. Build or support Power BI reports and dashboards using governed enterprise data. Translate business needs into practical applications, workflows, integrations, and reporting solutions. Who You Are Experience with Power Platform solutions, environment management, connection references, environment variables, deployment between development/test/production environments, and application lifecycle management. Demonstrated experience improving business workflows and converting manual processes into digital processes. Experience with REST APIs, JSON, HTML, HTTP-based integrations, OAuth 2.0, API authentication, and webhooks. Experience with Microsoft Dataverse and Microsoft 365 technologies. Experience with Power BI and a working knowledge of Microsoft Fabric or comparable modern data platforms. Ability to gather requirements, understand a business process, and translate it into a maintainable technical solution. Strong troubleshooting, testing, documentation, and problem-solving skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work effectively with nontechnical users. Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills, especially when working directly with discipline and department leaders. Ability to establish strong working relationships and build trust with field staff, surveyors, engineers, and office personnel Ability to manage multiple development and automation initiatives and follow through from concept to production support. Nice To Have Experience with Microsoft Fabric, OneLake, Data Factory, or other ETL/data pipeline technologies. Experience with SQL, Azure services, PowerShell, Python, JavaScript, or another scripting/programming language. Experience working in or directly supporting an architecture, engineering, construction (AEC), surveying, or land development organization. Why AKS?
