Type:
full-time LMC is one of the nation's leading buying groups for independent building materials and lumber dealers. The Technology team partners closely with various LMC business teams to develop solutions that drive efficiency, automation, and data visibility. This role will provide LMC staff with the tools to make stronger decisions and focus on our customer needs, increasing value to our membership. As LMC continues to modernize its technology landscape, the Technology team is leveraging Microsoft technologies, low-code platforms and AI-assisted software development, to rapidly deliver secure, scalable, and maintainable business applications. LMC is seeking an AI-enabled Application Developer who thrives in a collaborative, fast-moving environment and enjoys taking ideas from concept to production. The role is a good fit for a versatile developer who is comfortable working across both modern and legacy technologies while embracing emerging AI-assisted development practices. The ideal candidate is equally comfortable discussing requirements with a Business Analyst, designing a solution architecture, writing SQL, building a Power App, developing a .NET application, leveraging AI tools to accelerate delivery, and supporting the final solution in production. They are curious, pragmatic, highly adaptable, and excited about the future of AI-assisted software development.
What You'll Do Business Analysis & Solution Design:
Partner with Business Analysts and stakeholders to clarify business requirements and translate them into technical solutions. Create technical specifications, solution designs, data models, and workflow diagrams Participate in solution architecture discussions focused on scalability, maintainability, security, and long-term supportability. Estimate development effort and identify technical risks early in the process.
Rapid Prototyping :
Quickly transform business concepts into working prototypes to validate requirements and accelerate feedback. Apply specification-driven development practices to move efficiently from concept through deployment. Validate AI-generated outputs with sound engineering judgment, secure coding practices, and appropriate testing.
Software Development:
Design and support solutions using coding languages like C#, python, JavaScript, etc that work with applications within the Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Dynamics 365, and Point). Maintain, modernize, and extend existing legacy applications, including legacy VB and VB.NET solutions. Build integrations between internal and external systems using REST APIs Support reporting and analytics initiatives using MSSQL Server, Power BI and SSRS Produce clean, maintainable, and well-documented code.
Testing, Deployment & Support:
Develop automated testing as a standard part of the development lifecycle. Create unit, integration, regression, and deployment validation tests. Participate in code reviews and technical design reviews. Support CI/CD and deployment activities. Provide ongoing support and troubleshooting for production applications. Create and maintain technical documentation.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Technology, Computer Science, or other related field or equivalent experience required. 3+ years of professional software development experience. Experience working directly with Business Analysts and business stakeholders with varying levels of technical expertise Experience delivering solutions throughout the full Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC). Experience working within a small, collaborative IT organization where flexibility and ownership are expected. Strong experience with C#, .NET Framework and/or .NET, VB.NET, Microsoft SQL Server, T-SQL, Visual Studio and/or Visual Studio Code, Git source control, and REST APIs. Demonstrated experience with AI development tools, including GitHub Copilot, Claude, Microsoft Copilot, and similar tools with ability to evaluate emerging AI capabilities Ability to effectively use AI throughout the software development process while applying sound engineering judgment and validation of AI-generated outputs. Working knowledge of Python, JavaScript, and Power Platform technologies. Experience with one or more of: Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI, Dataverse, Dynamics 365, Point, and Azure services. Experience with ERP, finance, purchasing, rebate, distribution, or supply-chain systems. Familiarity with Azure DevOps and CI/CD pipelines. Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to balance multiple priorities. Comfortable working independently and collaboratively. Strong customer-service mindset. Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
