Job Description

Kane Partners has been retained by a global leader in industrial automation and sensor technology to recruit an Application Engineer to join their team in Exton, PA. Our client is seeking a dynamic, technically minded professional who excels not only at solving complex engineering challenges, but also at translating high-level technical concepts into clear, actionable communication for diverse audiences. In this role, you will evaluate customer specifications, recommend tailored sensor and control solutions, estimate costs, and consult closely with field sales teams to ensure seamless system integration. Whether collaborating with plant floor technicians, consulting with sales representatives, or presenting solutions to engineering leadership and executive stakeholders, you will serve as the core technical translator bridging customer needs with advanced automation technology. Key Responsibilities •
Cross-Level Technical Communication:
Articulate complex sensor, control, and automation concepts clearly to stakeholders at all levels—from end-user operators and maintenance teams to senior engineering leadership. •
Technical Support & Consultation:
Resolve customer technical inquiries via phone, email, live Webchat, and Microsoft Teams, providing clear guidance tailored to the user's technical background. •
Sales & Integration Support:
Partner directly with the sales force on technical matters, ensuring proposed solutions align with existing customer machinery and line integration requirements. •
Digital Support Content:
Translate technical product knowledge into user-friendly digital resources, documentation, and online support tools. •
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Work closely with internal product and engineering departments to troubleshoot and resolve post-implementation challenges. •
Process Improvement & Service Delivery:
Identify opportunities to streamline customer support workflows while assisting with quotes and stock availability to ensure a single-touchpoint customer experience. •
Product Mastery:
Continuously build deep technical proficiency across complex, cutting-edge industrial control and sensor product lines. Qualifications & Requirements •
Education:
Associate degree in a technical discipline required; Bachelor's degree (BSME, BSEE, or related engineering technology field) strongly preferred. •
Communication Focus:
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with a proven ability to explain complex technical topics simply and effectively to both non-technical users and technical experts. •
Industry Experience:
Hands-on application experience with sensors, controls, or industrial automation components within a manufacturing or related environment. •
Technical Aptitude:
3+ years of technical support or application engineering experience preferred. Background in machine repair or industrial equipment maintenance is a strong plus. •
Interpersonal Skills:
