Job Description

Constellation Energy seeks an Electrical Design/I&C Engineer to support utility-scale power generation and energy projects. In this role, you will design and review electrical and instrumentation & controls (I&C) systems, prepare drawings, calculations, and specifications, and ensure compliance with industry codes and standards. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams on plant upgrades, grid reliability, and modernization initiatives, supporting sustainable and efficient operations. The position offers the chance to work on impactful, environmentally focused projects with strong opportunities for technical growth and advancement. Responsibilities Design and review electrical power distribution and I&C systems for utility-scale facilities Develop one-line diagrams, schematics, wiring diagrams, and equipment specifications Perform load calculations, short-circuit studies, and protection coordination reviews Ensure designs comply with NEC, IEEE, ISA, and relevant utility and safety standards Support construction, commissioning, and testing of electrical and control systems Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering, operations, and project management teams Prepare and review technical documentation, reports, and change packages Troubleshoot electrical and control system issues and recommend corrective actions Support modernization, reliability, and sustainability initiatives across the fleet Contribute to continuous improvement of design standards and engineering best practices Required Skills Electrical power system design Instrumentation and controls (I&C) design Auto CAD or similar CAD tools Power systems analysis (load flow, short circuit, coordination) Protection and control schemes Reading and creating electrical schematics and wiring diagrams Knowledge of NEC, IEEE, and ISA standards PLC/DCS control systems fundamentals Technical documentation and specifications Construction and commissioning support
