Job Description

This is an Associate Signalling Engineer position for a Software Engineer. Performs design, development for automatic train operations, integration, testing, documentation and maintenance of hardware and embedded software to support the implementation of an onboard signaling system.

Responsiblities/Functions:

Participates as a team member throughout the requirement, design, implementation and verification phase of the project lifecycle. Performs assignments with minimal supervision.

Adheres to department standards, policies and procedures.

Designs, codes, tests and implements safety critical embedded software (of medium to high complexity) according to department and industry standards.

Develops or modifies low-level requirement, design, and test documentation to meet customer specifications and assigned schedules.

Communicate actively and reviews progress and decisions with other project personnel to ensure that all factors are considered.

Take direction and work one to one with senior experienced engineers

Take accountability of assigned tasks and complete with the assigned time

Other duties as assigned by management

Essential Skills:

Deep technical skills in a hands on C/C++/PC or Unix environment.

Experience with control engineering discipline applying control theory to design systems

Fundamental technical and functional knowledge in electronic circuits & software design

Requirements and configuration management skills

Problem solving, debugging, planning and analytical skills

Strong oral and written communication skills

Experience with the Motorola 68xxx-based architecture is desirable

Experience with Altera (Nios) and Xilinx (Microblaze) soft-core processors is desirable

Experience with digital signal processing (DSP) is desirable.
