The purpose of this full stack application development role is to deliver technical solutions that support key business objectives. You will develop enhancements, new features, and defect fixes using modern software engineering practices and technologies with a primary focus on web application development using C#, .NET, Oracle, React or Angular, REST APIs, microservices, Git, CI/CD pipelines, and automated testing. Working closely with Product Owners, UX Designers, QA Analysts, and fellow developers, you will design, build, test, and support business applications used by crop insurance agents, adjusters, policyholders, and internal staff. The solutions developed in this role support critical business processes across the organization and are delivered across web, mobile, and desktop platforms. This role is best suited for a developer with approximately 3-7 years of professional software development experience who is looking to expand their expertise across modern application development technologies while contributing to enterprise-scale solutions.

This role is hybrid, where you will be expected to be in the office 3 days per week. The salary range for this role is: $74,500.00

00 Your New Role Develop and support web applications, services, and user interfaces using modern front-end and back-end technologies that meet performance, scalability, reliability, and security requirements. Integrate web applications with APIs, microservices, and relational databases using secure and maintainable development patterns. Analyze business requirements and collaborate with stakeholders to design, develop, and deliver software solutions that meet business objectives. Collaborate with Product Owners, Business Analysts, QA Analysts, and business stakeholders to translate user experience designs into accessible, reusable, and maintainable application components. Contribute to modern software delivery practices through code reviews, automated testing, source control management, CI/CD pipeline development, and continual improvement of engineering standards and best practices. Apply secure development practices by implementing authentication, authorization, data protection, and vulnerability remediation strategies throughout the software development lifecycle. Participate in testing functionality, analyzing sample data sets, and ensuring the accuracy of program output to support quality assurance and key stakeholder standards. Support team growth through knowledge sharing, peer reviews, and collaboration on engineering best practices. Required Qualifications Tertiary Degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience. Preferred Experience Preferred Work Experience includes: Web application development using React or Angular HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and TypeScript
REST API
development and integration C# and .NET application development Oracle or other relational database technologies Git source control and collaborative development workflows Automated testing and software quality practices CI/CD pipelines and modern software delivery practices Participating in code reviews and collaborative development activities Troubleshooting, maintaining, and enhancing production applications Additional experience in any of the following areas is beneficial: Enterprise application development Microservices architecture Containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes Modern authentication and authorization technologies (OAuth, OIDC, JWT) Product/UX collaboration tools such as Figma Component libraries and design systems such as Storybook Front-end testing frameworks such as Jest, React Testing Library, or Cypress Distributed systems and event-driven architecture concepts Crop insurance, insurance, or other highly regulated industries Preferred Qualifications include: Postgraduate qualification in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field. Professional certification in software development, application architecture, security, or related discipline. Knowledge of application security principles, secure development practices, and data protection concepts. Familiarity with modern software architecture and distributed system concepts, including event-driven patterns, resiliency practices, and observability. Understanding of modern data access and access-control concepts such as least-privilege access, role-based security, and secure application design. Compensation Package :
The salary range for this role is provided above. This is the national range for location(s) listed. The salary offer will be decided based on the role's complexity, its location, and the candidate's professional background, including their education and experience. Beyond the base salary, regular full-time and part-time employees will also be eligible for QBE's annual discretionary bonus plan based on business and individual performance.
