Job Description

JOB DESCRIPTION POSITION
Application Engineer II (9096797)
JOB LOCATION
: 10353 Richmond Avenue, Houston, TX 77042 [and various unanticipated locations throughout the U.S.; may telecommute]
DUTIES:
Application Engineer II needed by National Oilwell Varco, L.P. in Houston, TX [and various unanticipated locations throughout the U.S.; may telecommute] to provide technical and applications engineering support for operations, sales and engineering. Participate and contribute to design reviews of new and updated products proposed by Engineering. Prepare product bulletins and product data sheets. Provide technical support to supply chain by verifying accuracy of orders. Develop technical proposals, well schematics, and running procedures. Write and present papers for professional engineering associations. Support field operations including but not limited to completions and well construction, open hole and cemented frac completions, toe valve, and frac operations. Utilize knowledge in oilfield math calculations including volumes, pressures, forces, and advanced hydraulics. Maintain controlled copies of relevant applications and sales templates and documents. Run customer related NCR (Non-Conformance Report) and related processes. Up to 20% domestic travel required.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Requires a Master's degree, or foreign equivalent degree in Petroleum Engineering. Requires experience, course work and/or project experience ensuring appropriate tool selection using various software; utilizing
MSACCESS
to convert and structure data; utilizing Trend Analyzer for analytical exploration of time-series data; providing application and engineering support by collaborating with cross-functional teams from job planning and execution to technical implementation, ensuring high-quality solutions that meet customer needs; and performing all well calculations and utilizing design software related to equipment being installed. Up to 20% domestic travel required.
