Application Developer Compensation:

$45 - $55 /hourly, depending on experience

Fully Remote Inceed has partnered with a great company to help find a skilled AS400 Application Developer to join their team! This is a long-term contract opportunity supporting critical legacy applications in a stable, high-impact environment. You'll play a key role in maintaining and improving core IBM i systems, helping keep essential operations running smoothly while supporting modernization efforts.

Key Responsibilities & Duties:

Maintain and enhance legacy RPG and CL applications Troubleshoot system issues and batch processing anomalies Support DB2 for i database queries and performance tuning Manage secure FTP and SFTP file transfer automation Coordinate with hosting teams on system maintenance Support application security and user profile administration Monitor job queues, subsystems, and schedulers Document system flows, schemas, and application dependencies Assist with data extraction and archival for modernization efforts

Required Qualifications & Experience:

5+ years of hands-on AS400 or IBM i experience Strong proficiency in RPG IV, RPGLE, CL, and SQL Experience working with DB2 for i Background in secure file transfer automation Experience supporting hosted or managed IBM i environments Knowledge of IBM i work management and security administration Ability to troubleshoot application and system-level issues Nice to

Have Skills & Experience:

Experience with legacy system modernization initiatives Familiarity with audit logs and backup coordination Exposure to disaster recovery testing Experience documenting technical processes and dependencies
