We are seeking a Configuration Engineer (Hybrid role) with a STEM BS degree and experience in PLM/BOM configuration management to build product definitions for steam turbines and generators.

Schenectady, New York job type: Contract salary: $24.88 - 35.33 per hour work hours: 8am to 5pm education: Bachelors responsibilities: Manage New Unit requisition project structures and Conversion, Modification, and Uprate (CMU) Bills of Materials (BOMs) for Steam Turbine and Generator products.

Collaborate with Project Engineering and ITO CM teams to hand off scope definitions, verify logical features, and resolve configuration discrepancies in PLM systems.

Support Preliminary Bill of Materials (PBOM) reviews, validate standard parts using GBOM rules, and optimize direct release for Configure to Order (CtO) efforts.

Conduct regular BOM integrity monitoring and assist manufacturing and sourcing teams in resolving BOM disconnects and schedule concerns.

Execute Configuration Management duties within Change Management processes while partnering cross-functionally on Lean continuous improvement activities.

qualifications:

Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related technical field. Experience in product definition development, Bill of Materials (BOM) management, Configuration Management (CM) concepts, and PLM systems. Demonstrated experience with process development, project scheduling, change control management, and collaborative problem-solving.
