Akkodis is seeking a Custom Software Engineer for a Contract job with a client in St. Petersburg, FL (Remote) . The ideal candidate must have strong experience in Java, Oracle, Application Development, and Data Engineering, along with expertise in designing, developing, and maintaining scalable data solutions.

Rate Range:

$72/hour to $75/hour ; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors. Custom Software Engineer job responsibilities include: Design, develop, and maintain scalable data solutions that support enterprise data collection, processing, and analytics initiatives. Create and optimize ETL/ELT pipelines to move, transform, and integrate data across multiple systems and platforms. Develop and support applications utilizing Java, Oracle, and modern data engineering frameworks . Build and maintain reliable data architectures that support evolving business and operational requirements. Ensure data quality, integrity, availability, and performance through effective data governance and engineering practices. Collaborate with business stakeholders, architects, and development teams to integrate new data sources and technologies. Analyze complex data challenges and implement innovative solutions that improve efficiency, scalability, and reliability.

Desired Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related field. 5+ years of experience with: Java Development, Oracle Technologies, Application Development.

Strong expertise in:

Data Engineering Data Pipeline Development ETL/ELT Processes Data Architecture Database Design Data Integration Experience working with enterprise-scale data platforms and application ecosystems.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with Anthropic Claude Code or AI-assisted development tools. Strong client communication and stakeholder engagement skills. Knowledge of Digital Banking platforms and financial services environments. Experience with cloud-based data platforms and modern data engineering practices.
