Job Description We are seeking an experienced Embedded Software Development Engineer with experience in real-time embedded software development to lead requirements, design and development activities of safety-critical airborne systems. The ideal candidate will be capable of receiving systems requirements and able to guide the development lifecycles to satisfy DO-178 objectives. This individual will provide technical leadership across development activities as well as provide input to certification and verification teams.
Location:
The role can be onsite (CT), hybrid, or fully remote. Responsibilities Perform end-to-end software development activities for embedded aerospace and defense systems from concept to integration. Collaborate across systems, hardware, software, verification, and certification teams. Ensure compliance of safety-critical software in accordance with DO-178 objectives by supporting certification audits, reviews and data package development. Define, solve and defend technical decisions to stakeholders while guiding technical implementation; including conducting of formal design reviews. Ensure efficient and accurate capturing of high-level and low-level requirements. Accurate and effective implementation of requirements into design and code. Support development efforts in alignment to developed schedules and quality objectives while interfacing with stakeholders to communicate technical status. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior and mid-level engineers. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering, or Mathematics discipline. Strong experience in embedded software development. Applicable hands-on 7+ years of experience with real-time embedded systems.
Strong understanding of:
o Real-Time Embedded Systems (RTES) o Real-Time Operating Systems (RTOS) o Safety-critical software development o C/C++ or similar embedded languages o Python and other equivalent scripting languages Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and root-cause investigation skills. Strong communication and technical leadership skills. U.S. Citizenship is required. Dual citizenship should be disclosed. Able to travel approximately up to four weeks in a year.
