Responsibilities Architects scalable, resilient, flexible and secure system designs Ensures alignment of system designs with business goals Performs hands-on implementation of core frameworks and critical system components Proactively manages technical debt and promotes best practices in code quality, security, and performance by providing technical leadership and performing code reviews Clearly communicates relevant technical status and direction with non-technical Product Owners and other stakeholders Leads teams of software developers by clearly communicating the architectural vision and by maintaining an active presence in the code base Mentors junior developers through pair programming, architectural guidance, and constructive feedback Oversees and/or performs product deployment to customer locations Qualifications Strong communication skills Ability to collaborate in a team environment Capable of working with minimal day-to-day direction Expert level proficiency with a modern object-oriented language such as Java, C++, or C# Proficiency in modern web design paradigms, tools, and languages such as JavaScript, TypeScript, Angular, etc. Desire and ability to quickly and effectively learn new technologies and adapt to new environments and methodologies Effective oral and written communication skills Flexibility to quickly adjust to the changing needs and priorities of a small, rapidly growing business Bachelors or Masters Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent professional experience Due to security requirements US citizenship is required. Additional Information We are a small software company based in Logan, UT., but we also have an office in Columbia, MD. We make software for the US Air Force and for other large aircraft manufacturers, and are working on some really cool projects that directly contribute to keeping our country safe. Minimal travel may be required.
